The CEFIcis (Corporate Information Service)
system has been put into service with great success in four Spanish
plants owned by Cementos
Pórtland Valderrivas in Morata de Tajuña (Madrid), Alcalá
de Guadaira (Sevilla), Olazagutía (Navarra) and Venta de Baños
(Palencia). This Corporate
Information System is based on the Proficy suite of
production-specific software by GEFanuc.
The characteristics of the system include:
- Automatic
production of reports, ready for validation by the person
responsible, of:
- Production
- Quality
- Environment
- Distribution of power consumption
- Shipping
- Real-time
integration of necessary data from plants using different control systems
(Polcid – Rockwell, Siemens, ABB) and other systems, with
the company SAP management system.
- Permits real-time
remote access viewing of plants via website by means of
charts, similar to those existing in control rooms, on a single website
independent of the control system of each plant.
- Permits
production of reports to the requirements of any
authorised user, needing only basic skills in computer operation. These
can be produced on an Excel spreadsheet or published on a website for
access by those people designated by the authorized user.
- Permits keeping
of records for an unlimited period and without loss of accuracy for
later study and application in optimizing processes.
The benefits that this new system provides to the client
include, among others:
- Automation of
the flow of information from the plants to SAP which also
provides:
- Quick access to data.
- Elimination of errors arising from manual entry of data.
- Reduction of costs by eliminating the need for personnel
to enter the data manually.
- CEFIcis can
provide a dedicated site that can be accessed in real-time to record
and report all information available in the plants, independent of the
technological platform of these.
- Mobile access
to CEFIcis via the Web. Company management has access to
all information even when travelling.
- All data is
recorded for later use.
In later phases the system will be installed in UNILAND plants which
have been acquired by CPV.
These plants are located in Spain,
Tunis, Argentina and Uruguay. Furthermore, the system will
be installed in the three plants in the USA owned by CPV Group.
